A Unique Round-Trip River Cruise Through Goring & Cleeve Locks
A Unique Round-Trip River Cruise Through Goring & Cleeve Locks
Spend the early afternoon gliding along the River Thames on a new cruise from Goring Lock, heading upstream (in the direction of Oxford) and passing through Cleeve Lock. This trip sails through really rather hidden Thames beauty, giving a unique perspective on reaches of the river that are idyllic, unspoilt and off the beaten track.

This cruise will last approximately 2 hours and recreates one of the more traditional ways to spend an afternoon on the river, harking back to Victorian and Edwardian times. Travelling through stunning Thames countryside that has changed little with the passage of time, away from the rush of daily life and an opportunity to visit a stretch of the Thames less visited.
After leaving picture-postcard Goring (opposite the equally perfect Streatley) we will cruise up-river to Cleeve lock, itself somewhat hidden and then steam on, following the sweeping turns of the Thames passing the Withymead Nature Reserve, turning before Moulsford. This round trip will then retrace its steps providing vistas back towards the riverside villages as we explore the Thames.
This cruise lasts 2 hours and the distance travelled upstream will depend on how long it takes to transit each lock. Departing at 1315 from the downstream side of Goring Lock and returning at 1515. There will be a full bar with hot and cold drinks onboard.
