From Mapledurham we will sail the unspoilt reach to Pangbourne Meadows turning just before Whitchurch Toll Bridge (which makes a good photo opportunity as it spans the river). From inside the vessel or out on the foredeck there are great river views, the excitement of passing through a lock both up and downstream and glimpses of large manor houses. We travel through two quite different and interesting reaches with ever-changing entertainment on the river.
The steward and crew will serve cream tea consisting of scones, Cornish clotted cream and jam*. Don't feel compelled to stay inside, take in the air on the foredeck or snap away with your camera out the window. The cruise departs Caversham Pier at 1330 and returns at approx. 1630.
*Our scones are baked fresh in an artisan bakery where nuts may be present thus we can not be 100% sure that no contact with nuts has taken place. If you would like vegan tea (alternative scones and cream) please indicate when purchasing tickets.
